Really appreciated this read. I've struggled with sleep all through my life, and after having a nice period of regular, easy sleep, I'm noticing those wide-awake-at-3-am moments creeping back in. I've ordered some magnesium and definitely going to implement some of the other practices you recommend.

I hope the magnesium works for you. It didn't for me. I'm so sick of posts like this and their false promises. The reality is that all of those tips don't work for some of us.

Thanks for this Cecilia.. I liked it.

But boyy... I'm commenting by 10:30 PM — ought I not to be in bed by now?

Haha 😂

This was really a load of insights.

Haha. Typical 🙈 if you weren’t in bed by 1030, at least you should have put your phone to bed 🛌 😂

Let’s try to do better this week!

Yes ma. I'll give it a try! 10:00 PM drop my phone and reflect. 10:30, pray, then sleep.

I've been struggling with my health recently. When I go to the doctor a my standard blood work says "normal". So my husband did some digging & thinks it's prolonged levels of cortisol. Obviously this is a guess, but I went from 3 cups of coffee a day (because I was tired but also because I love love love coffee) to 1 coffee and 1 black tea a day. I've also been supplementing with ashwaganda.

My sleep has gotten MUCH better. Same amount of time in bed but better quality & I cannot overstate how much my memory, mood, & clarity of thought have improved.

All this to say, I do have 3 kids & not a one of them slept until they were 3 years old so I have compassion for those who have no choice but to not sleep - but when you finally get the chance to sleep again treat it like your most prized and fragile possession! It's worth it to literally get your mind back!
