Hello! Love this topic, I totally resonate and have had to learn how to do nothing! We only learn how to “do more” and need skills to do less ( good book called do less you should check out).

Thank you so much for sharing this, Jacqueline. I agree, it feels like we are trained from early on to keep adding more and more, but nobody shows us how to pause without guilt. I’ll definitely look up that book you mentioned!!

Have you found a particular practice that helps you switch off the “do more” mode in daily life, or is it more of a mindset shift for you?

It was a mindset shift, along with years of meditation practice and finding slow hobbies, like knitting or cooking. I had to do my own exposure therapy and do NOTHING for a few days to realize that life still goes on and it's ok. :)

I loooove how you combined mindset work with tangible practices like meditation and slow hobbies. Exposure therapy for rest sounds so powerful. I have been experimenting with something similar by giving myself permission to do absolutely nothing and reminding myself that the world keeps moving anyway. Do you find that the hobbies help you ease into rest more gently, or are they more about giving the mind something calming to focus on?

Am I allowed to say Substack is a new hobby of mine? 😍
